Your adventure begins early. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. After a scenic 2-hour drive, we’ll stop in Mollepata for a freshly prepared breakfast, then continue to Challacancha (3,800 m / 12,457 ft), where the hike begins.

From there, we’ll hike for about 3 hours toward our base camp in Soraypampa (3,900 m / 12,800 ft) and enjoy a well-deserved lunch surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes. In the afternoon, we’ll hike up to the beautiful Humantay Lake (4,220 m / 13,850 ft). The walk takes around 1.5 hours and rewards you with unforgettable views of turquoise waters nestled below towering snow-capped peaks.

After plenty of time to enjoy and explore this natural wonder, we’ll return to our camp for a warm coca tea and a hearty dinner prepared by our expert cook. Overnight stay in our exclusive glass cabins at Soraypampa.

We’ll start the day with an energizing breakfast at 5:00 a.m., then begin a challenging 3-hour ascent to the trek’s highest point: Salkantay Pass (4,650 m / 15,250 ft). Along the way, you’ll be treated to dramatic views of Salkantay, Humantay, Tucarhuay, and Pumasillo mountains.

After reaching the pass and taking in the views, we’ll descend for 3 hours through diverse landscapes until we reach our lunch spot near Wacracmachay (3,800 m / 12,470 ft). In the afternoon, we continue descending for another 3 hours until we arrive at our campsite in Collpapampa, nestled in the high jungle.

After a long day of hiking, you’ll relax with afternoon tea and a delicious dinner. Tonight, you’ll sleep in a private dome tent, surrounded by nature.

Hiking Distance: 22 km / 13.7 miles

After breakfast, we continue our descent through the lush cloud forest. This 5.5-hour hike takes us past coffee, banana, and avocado plantations, as well as orchids and other native plants. Along the way, our guide will share insights about the region’s biodiversity and traditional uses of local flora.

We’ll stop for lunch and then take a short drive to Hidroelectrica. From there, we’ll hike about 3 more hours along the railway to reach Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you’ll check into a comfortable hotel and enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant.

Hiking Distance:
Morning: 16 km / 10 miles
Afternoon (after lunch): 11 km / 7 miles

Today is the highlight of your trek. After an early breakfast, we’ll board the first bus up to Machu Picchu, where your guide will lead a 2-hour tour exploring temples, plazas, terraces, and hidden corners of the Inca citadel.

After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to explore on your own. If you’ve reserved tickets to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, you’ll do so during your scheduled entry time (6–8 a.m. or 9–11 a.m.).

In the afternoon, we’ll return to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have lunch on your own. Later, we’ll take the Expedition train at 2:55 p.m. to Ollantaytambo. Our team will meet you there and transfer you by vehicle back to Cusco, with final drop-off at San Francisco Square.
